Scotty G & Hard to Kill/Oakland United Tap Takeover

  • Capelo's Barbecue (map)

Scotty G AKA Scott Goldberg and his band "Hard 2 Kill" is comprised of various members, depending on the size of the show and what we need for the type of venue we play; however,  the band plays a variety of styles of music, including original songs composed by Scott,  authentic blues, classic rock, jazz, funk, soul, and fusion.

All of Scott's supporting players are seasoned professionals who play music full time, so you can always expect a quality performance, regardless of how many members are present. We usually perform as a four piece, consisting of two guitars, bass and vocals. All members have played with major acts, known nationally or internationally. Scott is also an award winning producer and engineer, holding four CARA Awards, equivalent to Grammy Awards in the A Capella world, and his other credits include being the band leader for Toto's original lead vocalist, "Bobby Kimball" doing all the "Toto" hits with a 13 piece all star band, as well as leader of bands with friend and Rockabilly Hall of Fame guitarist,  Bobby Cochran of "Steppenwolf" and Bob Weir's band, "Bobby & The Midnights,"  Scott also works with blues harmonica legend, Andy Just of Robben Ford and the "Ford Brothers Blues Band" as well as Garth Webber, renowned guitarist who has toured with jazz legend Miles Davis and Greg Allman among many others. Scott occasionally works with original Motown funk brother and world famous bass player Tony Newton, who's played on over 100 number one hits over his career with every famous Motown artist, along with many number one artists charting from jazz to funk to fusion.  Last, but not least, Scott co-wrote, recorded and mixed/produced and mastered the entire film score for Lionsgate movie "Full Clip" starring Bustarhyme, Exhibit, Ellen Cleghorn of SNL, and Bubba Smith. The movie is 20 years old but is still viewable and seen regularly on the BET network, as well as HBO, etc.

Oakland is and always has been a beer town; a place where hard-working people would gather together to enjoy locally brewed, fresh beer. As the local population grew, Oakland was affectionately referred to as the “Milwaukee of the West” for its numerous neighborhood-based breweries.

Founded in 2009 as Linden Street Brewery, we became the first community-based production brewery in Oakland since Golden West Brewery closed in the 1950s. We are proud to have been the first of many craft brewers who have since restored production brewing in Oakland.
